This one makes great use of the design process to maximize interior space. The Containers of Hope project was built using two 40 foot long containers and it offers over 600 sq ft of living space. Obviously this home has more than one shipping container but the change in the appearance throughout the building divides it from the rest.
You have three main options for foundation with a container.
Three 40 foot containers two pairs on the first floor are stacked to create a 2 storied luxurious house. The tiny home they built for a couple from North Carolina is made from a single 8 by 20 shipping container which was fitted with a full kitchen and a bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower and toilet. The foundation uses a post and pier arrangement. Inside the container there is a floor to ceiling glass window and every facility.
